The FIFG Board convened over two sessions, on January 14 and January 20, 2025, to address critical matters shaping the future of FootGolf. These meetings focused on finalizing key documents, restructuring committees, and launching new initiatives to ensure the sport’s continued growth and global recognition.

Key Highlights from the Meetings
Finalization of the World Cup Qualification System:
The World Cup Qualification System was reviewed and approved after its second reading. The finalized system will be published this week, ensuring clarity and transparency for all Member Countries. Safeguards have been added to prevent corruption and ensure a fair selection process, with responsibilities clearly defined for everyone involved.
Committee Reorganization and Workflow Improvements:
The board decided to reorganize the Competition Committee into project-oriented work groups, allowing for targeted problem-solving and timely results.
The Player Committee is also being restructured to ensure gender-balanced representation and improved transparency. Member Countries will nominate one male and one female player for elections, with elected representatives forming the global committee. Meeting transcripts will now be shared in the FIFG Players’ Facebook group, and the president will participate in discussions to enhance collaboration and address challenges.
Finalization of the FIFG Tournament Rules:
The newly renamed FIFG Tournament Rules (formerly World Tour Document) were finalized. Updates include adjustments to the points system and tournament distribution, ensuring fair evaluations and balanced global representation.
FootGolf Referee Training Plan Development:
The Rules Committee is developing a comprehensive Referee Training Plan to standardize referee training and align with competition standards. Additionally, Virginie Mathieu from Belgium has joined the committee, bringing expertise to strengthen the development of referees and competition regulations.
Launch of the AIMS - SportAccord Member Country Onboarding Pilot Program:
A new AIMS - SportAccord Member Country Onboarding Pilot Program was launched to align Member Countries with international standards in governance, communication, and organizational development.
The program will begin with: Zambia (new Member Country case), Italy (large Member Country case), Slovenia (small Member Country case) and Australia.
This initiative underscores FIFG’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and collaboration across its global network.
General Assembly Rescheduling:
The General Assembly has been rescheduled to February 18, 2024, at 1:00 PM CET. The original January date was postponed due to delays in external audits. Agendas and materials will be distributed to all Member Countries in the coming weeks to ensure adequate preparation.
Finalization of the FIFG World Club Championship Rules:
The FIFG World Club Championship Rules were finalized, offering a structured framework for club-level competitions worldwide. These rules aim to enhance the organization and fairness of championships, strengthening the competitive structure of FootGolf globally.

New Member Country Onboarding: Discussions with six potential new Member Countries from Asia, Africa, and South America are nearing finalization.
Youth Development Initiatives: A kickoff meeting for youth programs is scheduled to nurture future FootGolf players.

Member Country Situations: Requests and challenges from various Member Countries were addressed.
